[QuickTacBeta] more observations

Lissa,

I'm sorry about the delay ... I've been very nearly off-line for a time.

There is no 40-cell limit in QuickTac. The beta is limited to the number of
braille cells that will fit in 100 dots. It's pretty poor that way. Newer
(untested) builds are limited to the dot with of your current page setup, as
I recall. Thus, it is certainly possible to get a width of braille that
comes quite close to the printable portion of your image. That in fact is
the intent of the design.

I've added a request to have a recent documents list on the file menu.
That'll be for version 4.1 or later.

Would it be possible for you to send me some screen shots showing the
initial size problem? Four screen shots would be ideal:
  - The initial screen.
  - 100%
  - 200%
  - Fit page.

QuickTac should come up with "Fit Page" selected. And I find that it does
just that for me. But perhaps something will occur to me if I can get a
look at the size you find.

- Peter

Working on this lovely 4th of July...

There's something weird going on with the margins or the display. I'm trying
to insert braille characters of a 40-cell limit, and the 40 cells look
awfully close to the edge of the drawing area. Plus, when I reopen the file
I get the message "some image dots have been dropped to fit the image on the
page," although I'm not exactly sure what that means (all the drawn dots
seem to be there).

So then I go to the embosser menu to make sure that my phantom Juliet is
still set. It is. I hit cancel, and now the screen has been redrawn so that
the margins are correct.

It looks like the program defaults a zoom size which is neither "fit page,"
"100%" or "200%", the only options in the view menu, and then resets itself
later.

Am going to get my own embosser soon, once I get it I'll be able to test
hard copies. Whee!

And also: would be really nice to have a list of recently opened files,
though I realize that's icing on the cake. :)

Lissa
