Hello Jeff,

It's not generally possible for me to answer questions about why 3.1 and 4.0
beta behave differently, other than to note that they are bound to be quite
different.  They don't share even one line of code in common.  So I don't
attempt to tackle problems by thinking about what is different from 3.1 to
4.0.

Instead, I'll focus on what appears to be wrong in 4.0 beta:

1. It won't open up .BRG files from the TMAP project.  I'm not familiar with
TMAP.  If you're allowed to send me anything from the site, please do.  I
should be able to fix that up for the next beta.  (It's long overdue now,
but still not immediately on the horizon.)

2. A .SIG file saved from 3.1 is being cut off in 4.0.  This probably has to
do with the page setup you've chosen in 4.0.  Would you please tell me the
size of the image (dots across and dots down) and the model, resolution, and
paper size you've selected in page setup for QuickTac 4.0?  QuickTac 4.0 is
cutting off the dots intentionally -- because it doesn't think that they'll
fit on one page given the setup that you've configured.  If it's right about
that, you'll have to find a way around the problem.  But if it's wrong --
and it likely is -- then I'd like to fix it.  Getting QuickTac 4.0 to
properly compute the maximum image size for various embossers, resolutions,
and paper sizes is a big thing we're trying to get done in beta, so we need
to hear when there are problems like this.

I just started using Quick Tac Beta and 3.1.  I cannot use 3.1 to emboss
because I have my embosser networked from a server.  When I open up files
from TMAP tactile map project I lose some dots on the right and bottom
sides.  It is strange because I have an inch and a half of margin on the
right side and bottom after it is cut off.  I have to emboss the fiels with
the beta.  The beta won't open the brg fiels from TMAP so I have to open
them with 3.1 and save them before embossing in the beta.  I have the page
size set to extra wide 11 inch but it doesn't cut it.  Why am I losing the
dots in the beta and not the 3.1 version.
